The latest collections of our american designers

07/21/2020

By choosing to put forward American designers, Triode spotlights their unmatched expertise and know-how, embodied most clearly in their attention to detail, their production quality and their informed choice of materials. Working with them means entering the physical world of production, the universe of the “Makers”. Whether working from metal, glass or wood, whether from the East Coast, California or the Great Lakes, their studios are simultaneously research labs, workshops and showrooms. Each year, a new generation of talents join the already well established and internationally recognized designers.

Some of these established designers recently unveiled their new collections and latest collaborations. Allied Maker extended their Wood collection and launches new works including the Bridge Sconce. The Los Angeles-based interior design brand Atelier de Troupe presented its new collection of lighting and furniture Dérive d’Été including the Coquille Sconce and the Compas Sconce, while BassamFellows introduced the Brutus chair. Designed by Craig Bassam, this new wood chair has its roots in the powerful Modernist vernacular of Perriand, Jeanneret and Le Corbusier, but is softer and visually lighter. Bower presented its Cuadra Mirror, inspired by the structures of Cuadra San Cristóbal by Mexican architect Luis Barragán. Calico Wallpaper introduced new works including Eden, a new delicate and gestural collection in collaboration with lighting designer Lindsey Adelman, and Erosions, which offers an immersive experience of the eroded surfaces that appear throughout the artist Daniel Arsham’s iconic work. David Weeks extended his Boi collection featuring the Boi Cluster, and Gabriel Scott introduced the Luna Architectural Series, a new addition to the Luna series, a glamorous reference to the moon’s diffused light and soft glow and including sconces and a table lamp. John Pomp expanded his Calla and Tidal collections with new chandelier and pendant versions, side table and console while Workstead presented new work including the Orbit Chandelier and the Canopy Sconce.
