In the seven years since they founded the New York design studio Bower, Danny Giannella, Tammer Hijazi, and Jeffrey Renz have become increasingly known for their series of mirrors, unique and bespoke decorative pieces adding intrigue to even the smallest of spaces. But the trio continues to create furniture as well, and they just released their new Melt Collection, which captures the story of a series of objects that have undergone a transformation. The creamy upholstered seat cushions, the travertine table tops, the glass mirrors, all drooping down as if experiencing some force of nature, some oppressive heat or laziness perhaps that exists in a dimension of their own. Melt offers four mirrors, four seating pieces and four tables including a dining chair, stool, lounge chair, daybed, dining table, coffee table, side table and console table.
Created during a lockdown in New York, the Melt Collection is a continued exploration of Bower Studios’ interest in reality vs. perception through material and form. With the help of 3-D artist and digital designerAlexis Christodoulou, the studio created a world for Melt perfectly suited to their surreal-meets-serene aesthetic.
