BOWER X Stærk&Christensen

American design studio Bower released a new collaboration with Stærk&Christensen, the creative studio of Camilla Stærk and Helena Christensen: the Svale Screen and the Svale Mirror.

Inspired by the swallow birds common in Denmark, where Camilla Stærk and Helena Christensen grew up, the design duo incorporate the bird’s distinctive shape throughout their work.

The Svale Screen combines mirrored panels with a snaking series of wooden dowels while the Svale Mirror features an abstracted swallow silhouette made from blackened walnut. An arch shape, thematic in Bower’s work, is completed with grey tinted mirror, filling in the negative space beneath each of the swallow’s wings.
